Committing to Purpose Requires Change

Companies world-wide have embraced a purpose-led mission. Unfortunately, this is much harder than just changing behavior here and there. Instead, organizations need to be rewired and reorganized so that along with economic value, social and environmental value are created simply by operating, as opposed to the purchase of carbon credits or charitable donations made at the end of the year.

A Strategy Map that explicitly shows People, Planet, and Profit overlaid against the standard strategy map themes of Financial, Customer, Internal, and Learning & Growth will identify where your purpose-led organization is winning, and where there is work to do.

 

Use With Other Strategy Management Tools

Since we are using the standard Kaplan/Norton Strategy Map as the basis for our Purpose-Led Strategy Map, it will integrate easily with the rest of your strategy management framework.

This is a good example of how this framework is more pragmatic than dogmatic - and is built to sustain the changing needs of customers, employees, investors, and even the planet.

If a purpose-led organization does not have an existing strategy map, this version of the strategy map can be added on to the Strategy Management Framework process.
